Care home boiler
One of our care home clients recently contacted us as they were having problems maintaining hot water at their home. On our site visit we found that the current boiler was not sufficient to cope with the demand for hot water that is required at the home. Following our site visit we recommended an Andrews Water Heater CWH 60/300 2 module gas fired water heater to be fitted with a high efficiency 300l mega flow electric water cylinder sited adjacent as backup.
Just days after our site visit the boiler at the care home stopped working and we attended site on a call out to fix the boiler. Our engineer found the issue with the boiler but believed the boiler was now at a point of being beyond repair. We arranged for the boiler manufacturer to send one of their own engineers to site and they immediately condemned the boiler. Following this the care home asked us to immediately proceed with our quote for the new boiler, but as this was a boiler which needing ordering from the manufacturer and wasn't available immediately from a supplier it meant the care home would have a period without a boiler. However, the home like any other care home has a duty of care to its residents and a main aspect of that duty is the ability to provide residents with hot water. Therefore, a temporary boiler had to be ordered to provide the home with temporary hot water until the new boiler arrived for installation. Below you can see the temporary boiler which was set up at the care home.
Once the new boiler arrived our in-house team of engineers were able to successfully install the new boiler and disconnect the temporary boiler which was then taken away the same day. The care home now has a boiler capable of delivering to the hot water demands of the home and have had no issues since the install. Please see the images below of the new boiler install.
