Sunderland College Project
UK Facilities Management recently completed a large M&E project at Sunderland College. Earlier in the year Sunderland College asked us to provide a quote to supply and install 70 new distribution boards as they wanted to upgrade the electrical technology throughout the college, providing the latest technology which also provides the best electrical safety. The job was required to be completed within a 3 week time period to fit in with the college’s scheduling so this is something we had to consider when submitting our quote.
We were later delighted to hear that Sunderland College had accepted our quote and had chosen UK Facilities Management to carry out these works at the college. We immediately contacted our electrical supplier with the news and placed an order for the 70 new distribution boards along with all additional items required for the works. Operationally we then also had to plan ahead the scheduling of our electrical engineers to make sure the job would run as smoothly as possible. It was important we planned the works well so our other company commitments faced no disruption, meaning we could maintain a great service for all other clients while the college works were to be carried out. Once the supplier orders had been placed and necessary planning had been made we arranged to have a pre-start meeting with the client. It’s our company policy to carry out a pre-start meeting with all clients prior to any major project works being carried out so they’re fully aware of our planning of the works to be carried out.

The project was very challenging and required working through late nights and weekends, but it was also a very rewarding project for our team. Starting from our sales team who got us the opportunity to quote and right through to our operations and engineering team the whole company showed great teamwork in the completion of this major project at Sunderland College. Our team successfully installed and tested the 70 new distribution boards in the 3 week time period we had been given to complete the project, bringing the college up to date with electrical regulations and upgrading their electrical technology.
